Each one of us has felt the effects of the COVID-19 crisis in many ways. This pandemic has changed our world, but our heart is still in the same place: with our community. In response, Meals 2 Frontline by Cash Money was created in April 2020 to focus on supporting the healthcare workers fighting the virus on the frontlines of Toronto. They are today's supermen and superwomen.

Image your hardest day, being way too busy to grab a proper lunch or dinner. This can be a daily reality for our healthcare workers who are caring for the sick and dying. They selflessly work through shifts with limited breaks and rushed meals. And at the same time, our local restaurants are feeling the stressors of low traffic and small revenue. Knowing about these difficult pressures on hospital crews and our economy, Cash Money had to help.

Meals 2 Frontline is fully funded by Cash Money. Our donated funds have helped local restaurants prep and deliver thousands of meals. As of mid-October 2020, we've delivered almost 15,000 meals to 30 local healthcare and frontline facilities including Toronto hospitals, police stations, fire stations, and nursing homes. Our efforts will continue until at least the end of 2020. We want first responders to know we support and appreciate them.

"Everyone knows someone who has suffered in some way: lost a job, unable to visit family or is fighting the frontline battle," said Christina Aprile, Cash Money employee and one of the first volunteers to launch this effort. "We don't know what tomorrow will bring but we can choose how we look at today. Being a part of this team that has chosen to help our frontline workers worry about one less thing in their day has made me so proud to work for Cash Money."

Why We Give

There is little we can do to help fight this battle as individuals, but as a team through our company, we're able to help and support those that are doing everything they can to save us. —Christina Aprile

"I am very grateful to be a part of this initiative," said Sarah Bowers, a Cash Money employee and Meals 2 Frontline volunteer. "Getting to work closely with these hospitals has shown me a side of this pandemic some may be lucky never to know. Thank you to Cash Money for supporting frontline workers who are our family and our friends."

Please join with us in supporting Toronto's brave healthcare workers while also keeping our local restaurants in business! If you're a restaurant interested in participating, please email: Meals2Frontline@cashmoney.ca
